Dr. Fritz is a comprehensive optometrist with specialized training in ocular disease treatment and post-surgical care. Dr. Fritz received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. He received his optometric degree at the Illinois College of Optometry, Chicago, Illinois. He completed an internship at the Illinois Eye Institute, Chicago, Illinois, in several areas including primary care, ocular disease, glaucoma, developmental disability, sports vision and low vision. Dr. Fritz’s additional ocular disease training includes externships at Truman Memorial Veteran’s Hospital in Columbia, Missouri and Olympia Fields Hospital in Olympia Fields, Illinois.
Dr. Fritz provides routine ocular health exams for glasses and contact lenses as well as diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. He also provides pre and post-operative care to patients including cataract and refractive surgery patients. Prior to joining McKnight Eye Centers, Dr. Fritz’s previous experience includes working at Hunkeler Eye Centers and Professional Eyecare in Kansas City as well as the private practice sector in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Dr. Fritz is a member of various professional organizations including the American Optometric Association, the Missouri Optometric Association and the Greater Kansas City Optometric Society. He has been a past lecturer at KCSee for Ophthalmic Allied Health personnel.
